It all started with a vision that one day everyone would be free to communicate wherever they may be without the copper wires tying them to the network. Thanks to Martin “Marty” Cooper” and his team, that vision turned into reality. The first wireless handheld portable cell phone was created making it possible for everyone to converse through a wireless device and network wherever and whenever. What Is In Your Phone Call Log – What Does Cancelled Call Mean? (On Iphone)

One of the general features of modern cellphones is the Call Log. A Call Log is a record of all calls made and received in your cellphone, which you can review later on. Certain details of the calls are recorded in the call log, including the name and phone number (for both incoming and outgoing calls) the date, time and the duration of the call.

When you review your Call Log or Call History, you will see that the calls are identified as either Outgoing Call, Incoming Call, or Missed Call. To refresh your mind, an Outgoing Call is a call you made to someone, an Incoming Call is a call that you received and answered, and a Missed Call is a call that you received but was intentionally ended by the caller before you could answer the call. (Probably because the caller got tired of waiting for you or someone to answer the phone, or the caller had to abruptly end the call for some reason).

Reviewing your Call Log, you may encounter or maybe have previously came across call entries identified as Cancelled Call. If you don’t know what the call refers to, you perhaps were perplexed or bothered when you saw the call entry and couldn’t help but wonder if the cancelled call meant that the call was rejected or declined, and why it was rejected.

“What does cancelled call mean? (On iPhone) ” is an article explaining what and why a Cancelled Call entry shows up in your iPhone Call Log. Skip through for full reading.

For iPhones, a Cancelled Call would refer to an outgoing call (meaning a call you made to someone) that went through, however was neither answered by the call recipient (the person you were calling) nor make it to voicemail.

When you make an outgoing call on your iPhone and the call connected (you will know the call have connected when you hear it ring) but you purposely ended the call before the call recipient had the chance to answer it, the call is recorded on your Call Log and displayed as Cancelled Call. Similarly, if you made a call and it connected but ended it before it can get through voicemail, the call will reflect as Cancelled Call on your Call Log. If it makes it to voicemail, the call will appear on your Call Log as an Outgoing Call, not as a Cancelled Call.

On the other end of the line, your call will likewise be recorded on the Call Log of the person you were calling, given the fact that your call successfully connected. However, it won’t be listed as a Cancelled Call. It is instead displayed as a Missed Call on call recipient’s Call Log.
